Lessons Learned. Don't Buy Cane Blanks Over The Web .

Well lesson learned I tryed to buy some bamboo blank from a place called Anglers Roost

Big mistake. Not only did they misrepresent the weight of the blanks they sold me.

But after checking the taper with a micrometer they are not even the taper of the rod they advertised.

There response ( send it back ) this whole kibocal going to cost me about $80 in shipping and duties

 

Lesson learned

It is too bad it didn't work out. Generally if you wish a blank, there are a lot of options from well known and respected builders.

Finished the rod from the blanks from Stonerodco. 

They were very nice blanks and I could custom order the taper I wanted.

Wrapped out a (stone) 8'6" 5wt cascade blank a few years back. Really nice dry fly rod. Looked at his website and many pages are missing. Hope he's still making rods
