Nachako Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Well lesson learned I tryed to buy some bamboo blank from a place called Anglers Roost Big mistake. Not only did they misrepresent the weight of the blanks they sold me. But after checking the taper with a micrometer they are not even the taper of the rod they advertised. There response ( send it back ) this whole kibocal going to cost me about $80 in shipping and duties Lesson learned Again Don thanks for your help in this Paul Ps I'm kinda curious on what this would turn out to be ? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/The-Waara-Taper-12-ft-3-piece-5-6-wt-Flamed-Bamboo-Blank-with-2-tips-/302271579366?hash=item4660ca44e6:g:H7YAAOSwnbZYEnOg 1 Quote
DonAndersen Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Paul, It is too bad it didn't work out. Generally if you wish a blank, there are a lot of options from well known and respected builders. Here is a short list: http://www.stonerodco.com/about-2/ http://carlinbamboo.com/blanks.htm regards, Don 1 Quote
Nachako Posted October 14, 2017 Author Posted October 14, 2017 Finished the rod from the blanks from Stonerodco. They were very nice blanks and I could custom order the taper I wanted. Great recommendation paul 1 Quote

DonAndersen Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Guys, when buying blanks or rods, please do your research. If you are unclear of what is offered, give me a shout and I may be able to shed light on your question(s). Don Quote
Roast Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wrapped out a (stone) 8'6" 5wt cascade blank a few years back. Really nice dry fly rod. Looked at his website and many pages are missing. Hope he's still making rods Quote
