Anyone fish big steelhead size moals on the bow?

I used too. For the most part the mass is just a pain in the ass when fishing for trout. Rather fish a simple string leech (e.g., Party boy) over a full MOAL any day. Can imitate mass a hell of a lot easier then it is to cast those damn socks

Ya fair enough. Actually lately I've been experimenting tying bunny in dubbing loops (thereby eliminating the hide.)

A bit of a pita, but get that movement without becoming a sock.

Arctic fox spins well in a dubbing loop and makes a great leech. I find it easier to work with than rabbit. Thread seems to hold it better on a finished loop.
