jimforrest Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Am headed into Skoki Lodge in Banff this coming weekend, and am interested in doing a few hours of fishing. Any info. I could get about which lakes to consider, flies/tactics to use would be much appreciated. Have never fished in this area. Thanks in advance for any help. Quote
trailhead Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Went in there a couple of years ago and didn't fish much, but I did have some luck in Ptarmigan Lake. Managed to convince the wife to let me fish for a hour or so while she read a book and relaxed in the sun. Was lucky that it wasn't very windy as a fellow I encountered said it usually howls in there. I got a few 12 inch brookies on the dry. I used an adams but I don't think that the fish are too picky. Good luck, that's a beautiful area and staying at the lodge is a great experience. Lots of bears in the area so be aware. Quote
McLeod Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I have been to the area a couple of times this year..No sign of bears ..the seem to like the ski hill..lol... Both Baker and Ptarmigan have lots of Brookies. Quote
