BurningChrome Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Not sure exactly what this entails since Metro articles are pretty sparse. Wasn't able to find a similar story on the Herald website. http://www.metronews.ca/news/calgary/2016/02/16/calgary-to-fix-fish-habitats-after-2013-flood.html Quote
jpinkster Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I guess this is the natural progression of flood recovery: Fix House - > Fix Pathways - > Fix Fish Habitat Could be a great opportunity for Bow River Chapter of TU to do some cool stuff! Quote
bcubed Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 It's more of a fixing fish habitat harmed by the second step. Will be cool work and have good opportunities for stakeholder engagement 1 Quote
Pipes Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Hopefully, they will pile more riprap that does more harm than good. Shake my head at all the money spent on bad protection policies. Quote
fishinhogdaddy Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Like at Lindsay Park. I watched this fall as they put up hundreds of feet of "fencing" on the south side of the park and some sort of retarded plants complete with sand bags around them to keep the soil in close to the edge of the Elbow. What for? To catch the various trees and debris that washed down with next high water incident or to spread seeds from the plants to the Hudson Bay? I would suggest a HUGE waste of time, effort and money; wherever it came from. FHD Quote
