pblundon Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 New to Calgary and looking to do an overnight float on the Bow before it gets too cold. Have a small inflatable raft and will mostly be fishing from the bank. Thinking of doing Police to McKinnions or McKinnions to Carseland. Wondering which float would be more productive at this time of year? Also other than SJW's, Boatmen, and bwo's what other types of nymphs would be effective this time of year. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have the time feel free to tag along. Thanks in advance. Phillip Quote
creekside Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Did our annual 4 night trip this fall, first night we planned to stay at Must Be Nice it was a boulder field so we we're forced to to poach one night just down from Cottonwood across from the big mud wall, which is still in good condition. Next day we checked out every island as we floated our way down stream hoping to set up camp on the big island just below the Highwood, all were boulder fields, had to keep going. All of the island were in the same condition. We did find one island ( thanks Berry for the advice) in good shape across from Jensen's spent two nights and trailered the boat out at Jensen's instead of Carsland. We we're both amazed on how the flood had affected the river and it's island. Good luck on your trip and bring an army cot or sleep in a hammock. One good thing no shoratge of fire wood. RAY Quote
