ghus32 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hi everyone, This may seem like a dumb question, but can you bring a flyrod in a case as a carry-on on a plane? Thanks Quote
Fishslayer74 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Sure can. I put two of them together all the time and take them on and have never been hasseled on it. I also take my reels on as well. Quote
jasonvilly Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Just did it this past week. Only thing not allowed were hooks. I purchased the iris safe passage travel case. Lots of room for 3-4 rods, many reels etc. Quote
screaminreel Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Depends where. Cuba is still a no. Mexico has a 4 rod limit. sometimes enforced, sometimes not. Quote

I've taken rods to Cuba twice as carry-on, checked the third time this spring for the new Westjet carry-on limit. Rods and reels with line and leader, no hooks though. Never had an issue. Quote
