ÜberFly
I just put some brand new SA Streamer Express on my 8 wt reel and as I was putting on my loop the outer sheath of the sink tip pulled off to exposed the nylon (mono) core (about and inch)... Is this a flaw in the line and worth returning?! On a side note, I've been having issues with SA lines recently (no comments from the Rio folks please!!) anyone else been experiencing quality control issues with SA lines? Hawgstoppah
I've used both, depending on what's on sale and what they have in the line I need at the time and I have had no problems with either. I'd return the line if it is something that will bother your casting.
Jayhad
Peter, Fish Tales has a super slick line welder, just take it to them and have them re weld a loop for you... works awesome
ÜberFly
Nope this was definitely a flaw as the outer sheath was sliding overtop of the mono core (wasn't fused) so I replaced it with some Rio sink tip!! troutlover
the Rio and SA sink different. I much prefer the SA in faster currents.
ÜberFly
Jared, I am aware of that and took that into consideration... The Rio has a slightly shorter head, but both are 250 grain. As a bully/pike set up it should work just fine...
