Howdy Pro's, is there a rule of thumb how far apart the oar handles should be?

my first drifter and several big name others ive rowed have them with about 1"-2" apart. my new drifter is set at shoulder width.... you can always pull them in.

I think mainly what ever is most comfortable for your rowing

I'd say just enough so that you dont bang your knuckles together when rowing. Maybe 4-6" apart would be perfect. That's where dutchie's hyde was set last year for me and I loved it. And if you can get "oar-rite" attachements for the oars they'll keep you oaring true all day long, effortless and blisterless. Highly recommended.
