Went exploring Saturday to find some real fish. Found a new water body with some healthy diploids. Nice to see fish growing so big before they reach sexually maturity.

The fish was mortally wounded prior to picture so no worries about survival (dinner for four).

Chrome 22" very close to 7lb

Nice Fish! Hey i was hoping to get out this week to do some fishing and was wondering where you were fishing? I don't need the exact location just the name of the lake. Feel free to PM me and i'll post it up later with some pictures. Thanks.

P.S- What cha using.... worms?..... REAL trout have black spots.

Jared, there is a lake south of Milo in the prairie. We were trying to find saugeye and burbot but all we could get were these fat fish with no spots.

This one has 7 spots I think, 24"

 

The spawners are bigger. Might have to try again in the fall when they clean up.

Those look a little better then your target species.

Jeff, the fish were rockets. Great fun catching fish where you are completely out of control. Chrome bullets flashing under the water and flying out for long distant jumps.
