JonnyLaRue
So my friends and I are planning a 2 night backpacking/fishing trip this summer. I’m 15 and my friends are 16 and we are all in grade 10. We are thinking about doing the cataract creek loop. We are all very skilful with camping, bush craft, and hiking. We are also very responsible and know all the rules. We think it’s a good idea however…my parents won’t let me go… what do you guys think? Sounds like someone needs to slip your dad some cialis. You can go hiking in Afghanistan and your parents wouldn't give a shiz ....sorry seen too many cialis commercials
SteveM
F'in do it. Most parents are total overprotective dorks. If you can't survive in the bush at 15, you won't at 35 either. Go get er done. I used to do 2-3 day solo camp trips when I was 16; of course, I would have gone with friends if I'd had any. When I got back, my parents had moved to a different town & left no forwarding address; guess they forgot to tell me they were moving??? Luckily, I was able to track them down, using my super-awesome outdoorsman skillz, yo! My parents cried & cried so much when I showed up at the door; it's kinda funny how people cry so hard from overwhelming happiness, isn't it? Apparently, both Mom & Dad suffer from memory loss, 'cuz the next time I went on a camp trip, they moved again!!! They are just so silly! ***FIXED***

fishpro
If you're considering the SPOT I would look at the products made by ACR. They do cost more, but they have a way more powerful signal and you don't have to pay the $100 per year subscription fee. When I was looking to buy one I found lots of bad reviews about the SPOT, couldn't find anything bad about the personal locator beacons from ACR.
