fredo Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Just got the end of this lecture.if you ever wanted to find out about the rip-off of our public lands shaw channel 10 monday 4pm Bob's right on the money as usual.Bad timing though. With the election coming up Redford won't want this to muddy her capaign.Addressing decades of mismanagement, patronage and corruption regarding these grazing leases may happen later if enough voters press the issue.Sadly, even if the lease revenues are redirected to government coffers, there's no guarantee that money will be used to rehab, improve access, reclaim wetlands etc.More likely those millions will end up in 'general revenue' a black hole that still has our best astrophysicists baffled. trailhead Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 This is the point of contention that the Wild Rose has jumped all over. There is no way anything will change. The ranching lobby is way too powerful. Us fishermen, nature lovers and users, don't count for much, voting wise or hill of bean wise. Quote
Taco Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I've had little trouble believing anything Scammell says or writes since his "Native Fish Coddling An Insult" column of some yrs back. I'm sure he means well. Quote
