Gil Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 So I decided to start trying to tie my own flies as a bit of a secondary hobby... I wanna say thanks to Milt if hes on here for his help. My first fly I wanted to try was a San Juan Variation i had seen online.. What do you guys think? (oh oh open question haha) A long section in front of the hook eye just folds overs in the water and looks unnatural. I would also go simple and dispense with the loop. Consider doing a wire wrap. Have fun. Quote
SilverDoctor Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Great job for a first fly keep tying and experimenting, looks like you have a worm bundle there. The next step is to try i on the water. Quote
Jayhad Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I tied up some worms recently with a loop like yours........ I will continue to to tie looped worms after experimenting, good work Quote
bhurt Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I think that fly will diffently work, infact you have given me some new ideas for worms. BTW, you never know if something is going to work or not unless you try. Quote
