Carlodabroads Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I floated down the bow from Glenmore to Policepersons flats last weekend. I stopped for lunch at a spot on the bank and witnessed a true lunker sort of porpoise in the really fast 1.5foot deep water at the head of the run. later I saw another smaller one do the same. I threw some nymphs and dries through the run with no luck. Any tips on how to catch these fast water guys? Quote
localanglr Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 try swingin a wet/dry or streamer past em Quote
bowbonehead Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 At this time of year they are probably taking boatman. try swinging princes, copperjohns or a boatman pattern from above and to the side of them be prepared for a violent take Keep an eye out for October caddis as they out now, try waking a Goddard or like pattern again the take will be violent use 3x ....... Have fun!!!! Quote
Carlodabroads Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 Thanks a bunch, Ill give that a shot, The water was really fast so maybe some movement to the fly, as opposed to dead drifting, will get their attention. Quote
