ruffsranger Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 When a large fish is caught from a boat on a river like the Bow it may take some time to get it to the net. It isn't always possible to get to shore to land it. The fish may be released a considerable distance downstream from where it was caught. When released, does it just find a suitable spot near there to continue it's life, or will it work it's way back upstream to where it wanted to be in the first place? Anyone have any ideas or knowledge of this question? Thanks Quote

Guest 420FLYFISHIN Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 yep, i have pulled a brown and netted him way down stream only to find him back int he same place next weekend (the face spots matched up) but if they didnt, i would release all my fish in the same spot lol Quote
darrinhurst Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I do believe that browns in particular are very territorial and have been known to spend the majority of their lives in the same stretches, don't they? That's what I've heard. Quote
