Mitchell0724 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I just got a Redington CPX 9'6" 5wt fast action. It feels like a very nice rod but I have never tried it. Has any one tried one out that wants to tell me more about it? Quote
Guest 420FLYFISHIN Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 they are great sticks. I have the 12'6 6wt and its very nice to cast for the price. i would love to try the single hander Quote
ÜberFly Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I have a 9' 5 wt CPX and REALLY like it. The only thing I don't like is the cork is super narrow. Great warrantee though, this rod replaced my original CPS when I broke a guide. I also have a 7'6" 3 wt Classic Trout as well. I think Redingtons are one of the best values out there IMO! P Quote
Eelpout Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Make sure your reel fits. Playing with it in the shop, I found the seat is smaller than those on the CT series Quote

Jayhad Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 i have a 10 foot 5 wt and its my favorite rod for the bow.great for mending. That's a rad stick, the 10 foot 6 wt is no slouch either. I have a few CPXs.... and I think they are great sticks, they have really nice, well thought out features like the hook keeper built into the reel seat... simple Quote
ironfly Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I have 2 CPX's, a 7wt and a 9wt. Love 'em! I'm casting bigger streamers, farther and more accurately, than ever before. Quote
