Tfo Warrenty

Hey guys. Just wondering if TFO stands by their lifetime gaurentee. Was out last week in the middle of the chinook swinging a big fat juicy worm in about 8 feet of water, when ....STRIKE..... i set the hook hard after loosing a few earlier on in the day. and then that awful sound nobody wants to hear. crrrrrrrrrrrack. the 4th piece (skinniest) part of my rod finally gave out about in the middle. I assume its from smacking some streamers against it a few times during the season. I have my origonal reciept, actually found it in my truck. My question is , has anyone attempted to return a TFO rod back for warrenty? Is it a big hassel? Should i drive to their HQ here in calgary or just send it in the mail? Do they have some kind of service charge? Anyways thanks for any response.

I had excellent support from TFO. I called then here in Calgary, then dropped over with the broken rod part - they replaced it immediately. No hassle, friendly and cooperative.

Contrast that to Sage - took 3 months and $40 to get the replacement tip.

Thanks guys, maybe I'll just take a drive down there and see what they say. I was just reading the fine print on my warrenty and yes doc, it says a 30$ service charge applies as far as i can understand. Pretty decent compaired to some other horror storys I've read. Thanks :D

You'll have no issues at all. Take it in, and as long as the have the same model rod in stock, they'll probably hand you a replacement tip right then and there.
