I tend to get bored tyeing the same kinda patterns after awhile so i thought I'd change it up a bit.

Couldn't find any barbell eyes for weight so i used a jig hook for the head and a heavy nymph hook for the stinger.

Was thinking i could bulk it up a bit more behind the deer hair to give it a better taper.

Thoughts?

I don't think those will work at all so I'll take them off your hands...

The only suggestion I'd have is to get rid of the nymph hook and use a Gammy or Owner for the stinger because of the wider gape. I find a size 2 in those works well for trout without being too big. Those should have some pretty wicked movement on them.

if you're going to be tying on jig hooks, i'd highly recommend the 1/8 oz. Matzuo sickle hook...it's the foundation of my Burla Bug's and i swear by them...they have ultra sharp points, they don't dull out, they're not heavy wire (easier on the fish), and they don't bend out with larger fish on (something about the sickle hook design)...

Ya the one's i have are very weak, its why i always cut off the jig hook and attach a stinger.

Thanks for the tip I'll look for some of those,i always thought there has to be a better quality type around.

Hey Tungsten I have those Matzuo sickle hooks, bought them at Scottys up at Pine Lake. They are are the most amazing jigs that I have ever seen. The walleye fishermen up there swear by them. They have the most amazing translucent red eyes and the hook is super light and deadly sharp. Next pinball/poker night that u come over I will give u some to try.

Casting too much lead can break your rod, or maybe you getting hurt. I'v seen both happen, not great.Triploid you must have 4or5 buggers kicking around to show the the members, and myself.
