Exploding Eggs...???

Recommended Posts

boiled a few eggs for breakfast this morning, after 5 minutes I figured they were done. Pulled one, dipped it in cold water and started peeling. A chunk came out exposing the not so done innards and yolk.

Fine, let the other 2 boil and threw the other in the "microwave" for 30 seconds to finish cooking it.

Picture this, I pull the plate out of the microwave - egg is well done - and put it on the coffee table. 30 seconds or so later it starts to whistle really loud and I move in close to see what the heck.

BOOM!!! there's egg everywhere and in tiny little pieces - i've got a few minor burn spots on my arms, nothing serious...

Am I the only one that didn't know that eggs in the microwave isn't such a good idea?

boiling water and warming tea, etc. are also dangerous when you pull out the item and it hits atmosphere it can actually explode in your face. i have seen this before. i didnt know it until my work sent around a newsletter on safety. i once had fish do the same thing.
