robert
boiled a few eggs for breakfast this morning, after 5 minutes I figured they were done. Pulled one, dipped it in cold water and started peeling. A chunk came out exposing the not so done innards and yolk. Fine, let the other 2 boil and threw the other in the "microwave" for 30 seconds to finish cooking it. Picture this, I pull the plate out of the microwave - egg is well done - and put it on the coffee table. 30 seconds or so later it starts to whistle really loud and I move in close to see what the heck. BOOM!!! there's egg everywhere and in tiny little pieces - i've got a few minor burn spots on my arms, nothing serious... Am I the only one that didn't know that eggs in the microwave isn't such a good idea?
SilverDoctor
Canned goods don't work either. It's a simple concept, steam expands needs somewhere to go. Try cooking a potato in the microwave, works great as long as you poke some holes in it to release the steam and avoid the boom.
Tadpole
boiling water and warming tea, etc. are also dangerous when you pull out the item and it hits atmosphere it can actually explode in your face. i have seen this before. i didnt know it until my work sent around a newsletter on safety. i once had fish do the same thing. Weedy1
Microwaves can superheat some foods and liquid way past their natural boiling points. Can be real scary if not properly handled.
