gravelman Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Well its just around the corner and man am i pshyced. In pervious years i have always waited till runoff is slowing up but i cant this year and i got to get out there. Do the ttricks you use on the bow for high water translate to smaller streams? If not then do i head up to the mountains for some better cleaner water? Also how many people out there head out on opening day? Quote
Lawrence Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I probably won't be doing anything until the months over, freakin grad / tradeshow season!!!!! Quote
cdock Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I can't go opening day. But you can bet on it I'll be on the streams the following Monday. I'll be trying a bit higher up. Quote
Tibore Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 well am in the same boat as you gravelman! however, i won't be in the country for opening day which blows. i would imagine that you could muster up some bulls or cutt but not in the numbers that would when the waters clear. but that goes without saying. Just fish the local "O" town pond with dries for practice as am gona do until runoff remotely over. Quote
Lawrence Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 THought he girlfriend is leaving for Edmonton for a few days at the End of June so I think and early camping session is calling Quote
snakeman Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I've got a date with a little spring creek and some brookies. Good luck to everyone on their opening day excursions Quote
BlueNorther Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I'll be on a certain creek somewhere in Alberta fishing my favorite section,it hasn't let me down yet. Quote
LynnF Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Looks like it'll be just me, Hayden and Jessie on opening day. For the first time in our fishing lives together, Mike is going to be fishing in northern Saskatchewan leaving me the streams all to myself. High, dirty water be damned...I got some places I'm gonna be and a certain large bull that snapped me right at the net last year that is going to know my wrath next weekend . Quote
bigalcal Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I have a staff camping trip to North Ghost Recreation Area on Waiporous Creek, Sun June 17. Last year it was fishable and I was there this past weekend it it didn't seem too bad. I might cast a line between "Beer Bongs"!! Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 ill be running up to the top of a certain favourite small stream Quote
gravelman Posted June 6, 2007 Author Posted June 6, 2007 well am in the same boat as you gravelman! however, i won't be in the country for opening day which blows. i would imagine that you could muster up some bulls or cutt but not in the numbers that would when the waters clear. but that goes without saying. Just fish the local "O" town pond with dries for practice as am gona do until runoff remotely over. But you can only fish it so much it really gets boring cause some of those fish are DUMB... Quote
grannyknot Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I've got the whole week off, so I'm going to hit the FTR and drive until I see some decent water, maybe try to find a spring creek or two. Hope everyone enjoys themselves. Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I got a stream that opens June 16 down here that will for sure be clear enough to fish, and I'll be on it I hope.... provided I'm not working. Quote
dryfly Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 I hope everyone finds a clear stream somewhere. I am pessimistic and think they will be few and far between in the SW... Good luck all. Clive Quote
