yodatrout Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 A little late but I wanted to say thanks to Greg, Max and Brad for the Bow River clinic they put on. I have yet to put the knowledge gained to the test but really enjoyed the day and it was great to meet some new flyfishermen. I hope that everyone has an awesome season on the river... with all fish taken on 26 midges! Cheers, Quote
toolman Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Thanks, still waiting for the photo's to be posted. Brad? Max? Quote
LynnF Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Was that you guys on Sunday just down from the Ivor Strong bridge? Quote
toolman Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Nope. Our clinic was held the previous weekend at a different location, but I did see the fisherman at the Ivor Strong Bridge on Sunday AM. Quote
OneMoreLastCast Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 That was me with a bunch of Newbie Fly Fishermen. I was pointing out Toolman's secret spots.... I do it in groups of 10, 3 times a day. Quote
toolman Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 NOBODY knows Toolmans secret spots. I tell everyone I fish with that I have taken them to my favorite secret spot, as a diversionary tactic...seems to be working. Quote
toolman Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 A few photo's of our day for all to enjoy and re-live. Thanks for everyones participation and support. We are considering a clinic for early July, if there is interest, that will be a little different. It will focus on the Bow river and the different strategies to use for the common Hatches (Mayflys, Caddis, Stoneflys, Terrestrials). Techniques will include High Stick Nymphing, Fishing the Swing with wet flys, emergers/pupa, Streamers and Dry Flys. Photos by B. Hurt Nothing was going to swim past these guys... Lets talk Knots... Fish On! Bow Rivers Finest! Next lesson, Entomology! The Bow River hatches are proflic. Many underwater samples were collected. Some lessons are best learned with a hands on approach. Fish On! Giant Bow River Brown Trout... Grad Class 007' .....See you on the Bow Quote

chidders Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Yup it was a Burbot. I missed looking at it and was hoping there would be a better pic. Quote
chidders Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 It sure doesn't look tastier. But maybe there is a reason for that - Maybe evolution planned it that way. Quote
