eatsleapfishrepeat Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Last night at six I was walking back to the police mans parking lot when I noticed bugs larger than midges emerging. I was able to catch one and they seem to be a very early hatch of caddis. Could this be posible? Quote
daxlarsen Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I don't know much about this sort of thing, but with the weather I was kind of expecting an early hatch because they are partially based on water temperature, and it (the water) is definatly a few degrees warmer these last couple days and the trout have turned ON. I thought (after reading a few books) that the first hatches were gonna be bwo's and pmd's and today I saw what appeared to be a BWO hatch and the trout didn't seem to care (which I also read that they don't generally care) Quote
DonAndersen Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 eatsleepfishrepeat, Some caddis show up quite early. There is a #10 ginger caddis that shows up on Stauffer about mid-March. Not much of a hatch though. catch ya' Don Quote
eatsleapfishrepeat Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 it must have been a caddis, it about size 14 and also ginger coloured. Quote
