I don't know much about this sort of thing, but with the weather I was kind of expecting an early hatch because they are partially based on water temperature, and it (the water) is definatly a few degrees warmer these last couple days and the trout have turned ON. I thought (after reading a few books) that the first hatches were gonna be bwo's and pmd's and today I saw what appeared to be a BWO hatch and the trout didn't seem to care (which I also read that they don't generally care)

Some caddis show up quite early. There is a #10 ginger caddis that shows up on Stauffer about mid-March. Not much of a hatch though.
