jdangler Posted March 16, 2010 Share Posted March 16, 2010 Finally did it, got my first fish with my spey rod & what a first, 20" Brown on a Bead Head Black Rabbit Strip Leach. The long rod is quite a bit different when fight a fish, seemed like a easier fight than on a single hand rod, and getting a hold of the fish was interesting also. I used the method of turning the drag down on the reel and feeding line and stepping towards the fish, grabbing the line and hand pulling him in. No pics, just in my memory.
