kritofr Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 After watching the Gold medal match last night I was hoping that someone on here understands the rules of the game and could explain why Canada couldn't or didn't just run every Swedish rock out (peel I think the term is) and leave themselves to try to draw to the button to count one when they had the hammer on the extra end? Nick0Danger Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 The best stratagey is when you have hammer is to clear the house, that said if any of the first 4 rocks throw are put up as guards they can not be removed till so many rocks stand. What i dont get is why she would not toss another guard and let her scoreing rocks stand. She in the mind of many curlers i know belive she gave the game to the sweds. Quote
duanec Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 free guard zone aka four-rock rule. i would agree the game got to her head, and she stopped doing what she's pretty consistently been able to do all year...make the clutch shots. Quote
kritofr Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 Thank you, I was wondering what was going on. Oh well, she still did us proud with her achievement. Quote
