  1. My two cents for what it is worth! I dry fly fish and I own numerous rods from Temple fork, Sage, St Croix, Hardy Zenith, etc. I have cast numerous other rods as well from low end to high end and I say not only do your research but test drive as many rods as you can to come up with your own opinion. This is how I look at it....would you ever but a new driver for golf with out hitting a few balls and reading some reviews? Google 4wt shoot out and read about fly fisherman testing rods and then go and try a few...I did and I ended up buying the Hardy Zenith 4pce 4wt and also the St Croix imperial. Have fun
  2. Happy birthday to you as well Brian!! Enjoy your cake tonight....

  8. Being a Realtor in Red Deer I know that there can be a huge amount of complication if you DO NOT get a permit especially when you go to sell the property and it was not built to code or it has encroachment issues...go get a permit and then you will have NO issues.
  9. Welcome to Alberta!! THere are a lot of streams and Rivers all through our great province including the Bow, Red Deer River, Staufer, Prairie creek, the Ram and that is to just name a few. If you ever want any inforamtion about the Red Deer river or any central Alberta stream just sen me an e-mail. Thanks Tony
  10. Under the rowers seat you have a place to store a spare oar ... not inside the storage bin but underneath...I highly recommend that you get one incase of emergencies
  11. There are pros and cons on a drift boat PRO: when you are anchored off the oars tuck to the side of the boat and keep the boat tracked and in place so the boat does not move and spook fish while dry flying. CON: I like to roll my wrist when rowing down the water and skim it so to speak in the skinny water like the Red Deer or the Elk River. Most of the rookie rowers prefer the oar locks because there is less room for error while rowing and while anchored...your choice I guess!
  12. I found out the price and they are $36.95 plus shipping from the states... so if you want to buy them just make me an offer
  13. I have a NEW pair that I used once on my Hyde but I do not like them at all. I live in Red Deer if you are interested. I dont know the price I want forthem but I will check the Hyde website to see what the cost was.
  14. I will agree with a portion of that BUT the RDR browns are way more finiky than those of the bow and on the Red Deer River it is the Skwala hatch that the Browns are looking for and not the winter stone unless you are talking about the Little RDR...lol
  15. I need your help in tracking down Tim ( reellife) as he was the winner of my float down the Red Deer River. I have spoken with him, however I wrote down his phone number wrong and we are planning to hit the Red Deer on Thursday. He can e-mail me or calll me on my cell 403-391-4236...Thanks Tony aka sanky
  16. Mike I will be in Fernie from August 17TH-24. If you need directions to some great water I would be happy to help as I have fished there for at least 10 years. let me know and I will give you my cell phone #
  17. there is some nice fishing just west out of the town of innisfail. just turn right after the bridge, drive down to the river and walk north until you get to the Island. Cross over to the Island and fish on the right hand side or the east side of the Island...have fun but do not attach the water as these trout are very very sly!
  18. The auction item on the Red Deer river is for 2 anglers as i have a Hyde drift boat. Good luck and have fun bidding
  19. that also sounds great to me...I would be very interested in that!
  20. Good day all! I do not post much on the site however I have been a member for some time. I guess I like to read more than I like to type...anyways I own my own Hyde drift boat and I would like to offer my river (Red Deer) my boat and my knowledge of the river to you in exchange for a float in your boat, your river and your knowledge. E-mail me for details and the best time that works for you. THe Red Deer River does not open until the long week-end in May.
