  1. I see Fishhead's young apprentice has decided to poke his nose in again. This should be good.
  2. I love you man. Peace brother.
  3. How many beers you at Fishhead?
  4. Now Fishhead's version he sings to himself. I’m just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of me I’m just heaven to touch I wanna hold me so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive I’m just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of me Pardon the way that I stare There's nothing else to compare The sight of me leaves me weak There are no words left to speak So if I feel like I feel Please let me know that it's real I’m just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of me I love me baby and if it's quite all right I need me baby to warm the lonely nights I love me baby, trust in me when I say Oh pretty baby, don't bring me down I pray Oh pretty baby, now that I've found me stay And let me love me baby, let me love me I’m just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of me I’m just heaven to touch I wanna hold me so much At long last love has arrived And I thank God I'm alive I’m just too good to be true Can't take my eyes off of me

  6. I was born in Calgary so I have a right to bash my hometown. I decided to move to Edmonton when I was 3 months old. Best decision I ever made, remember the day perfectly! (Sorry we missed your bully fly demo Saturday Max - had to eat bad)
  7. Twas the winter of 96-97 in Grande Prarie - yes -50 below, when everything stops moving including your breath in front of you. Spent a year in the Prarie Haven motel there. What a treat. Free beer on the company though so it kept the chill off. I was a team at the Boston Pizza, ie I was allowed to order a team pitcher by myself. No wonder I quit boozin, had enough Rickard's Red to last me a lifetime. Now there's a town with traffic problems. Frick at -50 nothing goes anywhere.
  8. Don't worry Ladystrange I can handle Fishhead's attempts at humor. Fishhead is always trolling, if you only nibble and then spit the hook out eventually he packs his 5gallon bucket up and goes home. The smell of the bait has a tendency to linger for awhile afterwards though.
  9. They only go for the scenery. It was your friends from Edmonton telling you it was safe to swim in the river wasn't it? Probably some Northern Lights guys.
  10. No doubt. Anyone ever heard of the Colwood crawl in Victoria? People have chess games on the hood of their cars while waiting for the traffic to flow. Calgary and Edmonton are not that bad for traffic on the scale of things. The oil rich people of this province just have a tendency to complain about anything. Look at the "I hate winter" thread. (sorry rickr) The temperature drops from a balmy +6 in Calgary to -25 and everyone freaks out. Who cares if the Bow is frozen until next June? Everyone knows the best fishing is around Edmonton anyways. So quit yer complainin...... It's nice to get back to the bashing...
  11. You obviously didn't understand my reply. And yes, I'm from Edmonton. The North Sask is one of the most under rated rivers around. A guy with a jet boat would have fabulous opportunities at several species. I used to live 100 feet from the river in downtown Edmonton (no not a tent ) and the fishing was fantastic. The river is underused and it's time the damn city does something about it. Stillwater fishing for Bows is fantastic if you have a clue what you're doing. I can be in the water within a 1/2 hr casting to fish that average in the 16-20" range and expect to get something over 20 quite often. You're right that some of the potholes do not produce well and can be slews but overall things have been coming around quite well up here in the past few years. There are quite a few more places within an hour to cast a line than East Pitt for rainbows. Wabamum holds some of the largest Pike you'll ever see anywhere in Alberta, great Walleye lakes, Grayling not too far. I fished about 100 days last year, 90% of it within a 2 hour drive of Edmonton, 80% within 45 minutes. I'm either really stubborn or there must be something worth fishing for. So to answer your question, I would say you were misinformed, or something. I would go with the something before the misinformed though.
  12. There was no gold residue left on my fingertips after touching it so knew instantly it wasn't worth $100.
  13. A lot of the pressure has been taken off the roads in Edmonton with the Anthony Henday ring road additions. It can only get better. I live on the North side of the city and can be anywhere in the city within 45 minutes during rush hour. That's not too bad for a city approaching 1 million. I used to drive to Wetaskiwin on a regular basis and would make the trip in 1 hour during the summer and 1hr 15 minutes during winter. From my house it's an 82 km north to south trip through the city then south . If that's not moving I don't know what is.
  14. Actually I would like your opinion, that's why I asked. I wasn't trying to be argumentative if my question may have come across that way, just curious as I have not heard a whole lot on this issue of balance.
  15. That crap coming from a guy with a jet boat?
  16. DBT - is the under staffing of CO's in the south any worse then the rest of the Province? In other words is the province as a whole short staffed or do you feel the south in particular is get shafted? Through discussions with the CO's out of Smokey Lake and St Paul it sounds as though they spend a good chunk of time on walleye poaching.
  17. So you've been to every city in the world? What's it like to drive in Shanghai or Mumbai? I heard Mumbai is just ridiculous and to never give the finger to anyone in Istanbul.
  18. Good of you to host the breakfast Rickr. Not a chance in hell my wife would allow a bunch of fly fishin yahoos in our house. You must have a great lady there.
  19. Did anyone invite the bunny? Poor thing, I think everyone forgot about him.
  20. Good to hear you're getting better Clarki. Nice looking shark.
  21. Is it that coarse?
  22. Then what? You had your head slammed on the hood?
  23. Wouldn't it be tough to have a picture on your hat of yourself sitting in the place you're having your picture taken? Now just exactly how could that be possible?
  24. Dave, this is the one I sent to Chris. As you said there may be some different lines and edits here and there and possibly some color enhancements.
  25. Can you believe my parents never found out about it until I told them years later. They didn't know about the fire truck incident either. Sorry Rickr, back to the pancake breakfast.
