  1. You guys should be lucky with the one you have in Calgary...It might not have everything, but at least it's not the one in Edmonton. The one in E-town has a micro-fraction of the amount of fly fishing stuff. It's probably a lot like the Lethbridge one that Clive talked about lol. We ordered some Umpqua tippet that was supposed to come up from the Calgary store, so they gave us rainchecks a year ago: Still no call back
  2. Happy b-day! Have a good one man
  3. You might be right bhurt, I found this sizing chart and there isn't much difference between the mediums and the larges: http://www.scierra.com/?product=375 The only problem I might have then is my waist is a 33 or so...is the belt on them pretty good if I had to cinch em up a bit lol?
  4. Dang, too bad they are out of mediums. I think the mediums are the only ones I would fit in...I'm 5'11" 155 lbs, and size 10.5 feet lol...so don't think the large will work....ah well, someday I guess Sounds like a wicked deal though speyghillie! Do you know if they will get mediums in in the future?
  5. That would be great speyghillie! I'd be in for sure! And might have another person interested in a pair as well... On a side note, does anyone know what the foot size is like on the stockingfoot Mediums?
  6. Well, looks like that company just had them on their site, but doesn't have them anymore neither....overseas it is!
  7. That sounds really durable, which is definitely good to know. Some of the waders out there don't rate too well on the durability scale lol. I think I might have found a place to get them in Canada too...MAYBE...just have to get confirmation...keeping the fingers crossed lol.
  8. Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated! And Max, that means a lot coming from you cuz I know you fished in em super hard in just a year. Those must be the ones you had when we hit the Bow in the fall eh? Looks like I will be searching overseas like you bhurt...unless someone has some kickin around. Taco: I do quite a bit of wet wading too lol...just not in spring or fall...might be singing in a very high pitch lol headscan: It is just as Max says, I rarely wade past the crotch anyways, so they should be nice for comfort...especially in the summer. If I hit somewhere where I know I'll need the normal waders, my old ones will be there....they are only little pinhole leaks anyways
  9. After 6 years, I think my ol' Hodgman breathables have finally sprung a few pinhole leaks. I was looking at breathable waders online and came across the Scierra CC3 Waist Waders. My question is, does anybody have these? If so, how do you like them? Also, where can you find them in Alberta? I'm sure they don't have any around here (Edmonton). http://www.scierra.com/?product=327
  10. I agree with headscan on this. Put your personal little indifferences away, and do something for the good of the fish. Do you want to see the end of native steelhead runs? The fact that we still have these amazing fish is a miracle after all the crap that they've been through. Treasure what you have, because a few wrong moves later and its all gone. It's called fishing, not bitching...
  11. So how big did your fly pile get by the end of the weekend? You and Ron were tying like mad men lol
  12. Sport Fishing On the Fly is my all time #1 favourite. I really like the older ones a lot more, but the new ones are good too. That show kind of inspired me to take up fly fishing way back when lol
  13. LMAO nice
  14. Was a wicked game that's for sure! I still can't believe how many times that goalie for Sweden flopped in the game...maybe he should change his career to acting?...lol Edit: I now see that this was mentioned about the goalie haha oops
  15. My FishCat 4 is the one that has foam inserts for the seat part, so I didn't want to be packing those in the backpack too. I think the newer versions have blow up seats. The Caddis definitely is lighter and more compact though either way, so that's why I picked one up for the high mountain lakes. Plus you can blow it up by mouth if you don't have room for a pump. Drew: I've been out in some windy days with the FishCat, and had no troubles. It is really nice as far as float tubes go, because you do sit out of the water a little higher than regular float tubes. It seemed a little easier to control than my other one too...not sure if anyone else has found this to be true too?
  16. You can't really beat Outcast. I have the Fish Cat 4 float tube, and also a Fish Cat 8 pontoon boat. No problems with either one. That being said, I also have a Caddis Nevada float tube that is light enough to put in a backpack for high mountain lakes. It is a great boat too, and very affordable.
  17. Looks like both the times they had on the front page of their site were wrong for Boxing Day. Still haven't seen it on WFN yet....anybody know if it will be on soon?
  18. haha agreed. one time i forgot i even had my phone on me, and got a call near the top of a mountain on a hike in Banff lol. never really had problems with reception for Telus. My cousin on the other hand has Rogers, and couldn't even text message in some towns in BC...was no prob with Telus though
  19. Yea the gar looks sweet, but I want to see the epsiode with April Vokey. Saw her on Columbia Country once...that woman is a fly fishing machine, not to mention gorgeous...I think I'm in love lol
  20. I was outside at work that night and saw it just ripping over the refinery. I thought I was just seeing things lol, but this clears it up now. Thanks for posting!
  21. And how is it possible that the Dimestore Fishermen show is even worse now WITHOUT the drunk/stoned hippy (Devon Funk)?!? That's my question, because I saw it on that Newfoundland Superstation...NTV or whatever, and wow, couldn't even watch that Jim Hoey on his own for more than a couple minutes lol...brutal show
  22. Are you just sad because the premier isn't from a big city anymore? Seriously...from the bias poll at the top of the page it looks like you're hatin on rural Alberta! Not every premier is going to come from Calgary
  23. Exactly my thoughts!
  24. Agreed! Those uniforms are sweet. I'm happy they finally brought em back. Garon and Roloson are both rockin the masks paying homage to the 80's when they wear those jerseys too
  25. Dries, nymphs, and streamers all work lol...so pretty much everything. One year my brother and his friend were catching them on 6" long topwater pike lures haha...
