Haha. Yeah, I saw a bit of that today. It was a gorgeous clear spring day, and then those armageddon-like clouds started surrounding me. I thought swinging a 9ft lightning stick in the middle of the river wasn't a good idea, so I went home after that.
Only in Calgary...
yah it was awsome out for a bit and the temp droped pretty quick.

its the furthest parking lot in fish creek.
if you can make it in the morning i can show you a few spots to catch some fish.

do you have a huge bath tub or something of the sort?
that could be why there are two to start with.
so if you use the big tub you will need both tanks to fill it

basic story,
some 18yr old kid decied to test drive a car.
his test drive turned into a few day joy ride.
well the kid tried racing anyone with a nice car he saw
someone got a pic of him driving and another member followed him home.
he was arrested and the car was returned.
pretty neat story. the first post contains all the main info and links.

pretty funny and also very intresting.

the majority of my catch in the elbow there are browns.
but what about the rainbows above the weir?
do they use the fish ladder to head to the highwood?

ive fished it 3 times this month and its tough to find fish.
you could cast into bottom of the dam.
i normally find a brown or two in there.

All i know is they're making a whitewater section, and a easy drifting section
All i have to say, is that this is gonna SUCK...the rafter numbers from downstream of 17th ave is going to be up beyond exponentially compared to the years of past
its alright i fish in the nw a ton in the summer.
i already deal with millions of rafters.
im just really intrested to see how this will affect the number of fish both upstream and downstream of the weir.
do you think fish will start moving up? or will it not make to much diffrence?

my buddy bought a cheap 91 4runner for 800$
bone stock. had this thing to to the top of the hood under the water and got stuck.
shut her off got it towed out let it sit for 4 hours and it started and he hasnt had a problem!
the only thing that has happened since he has owned it 8 months now is an alternator.

shipping takes 2-3 days.
flies are great only ones that i have ever had a problem with are brassies.
sometimes the peacock hurl comes off, thsi could be from horrible casts etc.
i have been ordering flies from them for over 6 months now.
and thats all i have to complain about.
i also picked up some tippet and leaders from them.
its compareable to rio. im happy with it and will deffinattly be picking more up.
give it a shot im sure you will like them

i have been fishing for pike in saskatchewen since i was 3.
family owns a farm on the lake.
my grandpa and i were out fishing and brought back 3 decent pike and our limit of pickeral sp? for lunch
we had bonked them with a club and put them on a stringer. we got off the lake and walked to the shop to filet the fish.
when my grandpa took the stringer out of a 10 pound pike the thing jumped at his hand!
it cut the *hit out of him way worse then the guy in the video.
pike are pretty rowdy fish i hate swiming anywhere near weeds in lakes that have them.

...or fish refusing your fly @ the last second, and snagging themselves on the way by. Lots of reasons. No big deal.
its not a big deal unless your pulling a 20"+ brown upstream but its tail lol

today for the first time ever i foul hooked 2 fish. on above to dorsel fin and one closer to the tail.
one of the fish was on the top fly a size 16 and the one that i got in the tail was on a 18 brassie.
i dont know if im doing something wrong. im not to sure if im setting to late? or if its just fluke.

edit: i find when applying side pressure they spit the hook easier.
maybe its just me though.

got it figured out now.
max i think you were right on the flies to close toghter.
ive been setting alot quicker and havent really had the problem agian.
