  2. Great. WIsh I knew what you were talking about. Thanks for bringing up the topic as know I know. Yes, I am a rookie so I went to 3 different websites. Here's a clip:"Redd superimposition, i.e., spawning over a redd site where another female has previously laid her eggs, is a common phenomenon in salmonids. It has been documented in streams where different species reproduce (Sorensen et al. 1995; Landergren 1999; Taniguchi et al. 2000). Superimposition also occurs among the individuals of a single salmonid population, ..." 2012 John Wiley & Sons A/S ECOLOGY OF FRESHWATER FISH
  3. Yup. Once the river opens ups will do the Ghost dam to Cochrane "run in less than 12 parsecs".(Star Wars) DId that stretch on a Scadden Escape a lot last fall. Enjoy it more than further down. Also the Old Man from Hwy 22 bridge on down and planning to do the N. Sask near Rocky this summer. Enjoy the float.
  4. Went to the website - the 6' escape is rated to Class 3. I have ran class 3 water in it in alberta with my fly in the water on ocasion. Class 3 is not a problem. See http://www.northforkoutdoors.com/2012catalog/page8.html.
  5. Scadden is a winner. Mine fits in the back of my small car and I plan putting a electric motor on it this year. The frameless construction makes it light and easy to transport. I have had a more typical pontoon boat and it just didn't have the maneuverability and scadden handles up to class 3 rapids better. Enjoy whatever you buy.
  6. Country Pleasures also has a limited number of Sage rods at 40% off. I bought one on Saturday.
  7. I have a simple Olympus Stylus Tough, 5 foot shockproof and 10 ft waterproof. Bought it for a trip to Belize 2 years ago and it did well. It is a good all round camera but keep in mind making menu adjustments are a little harder due to adjusted controls to keep it waterproof. Over 1/2 hour at a time in the water and no problems. Still using it for fishing here but it is awkward to take that underwater shot when you are also trying to land a fish. Enjoy.
  8. In particular, I am looking at a pull out point nearer to Calgary. BowGlen Prov. Park has no river access. Any ideas? Is the boat launches on the south side of the river at Emerald near Springbank a public access? Thanks.
