Sanjuan, we had just left the launch but hadn't started down the river we where sitting near the current seam just getting ready and having a smoke. The current grabbed the boat and in a split second we where side ways in the rapids, just managed to get the boat straight when we hit that big rock that's in there. It turned the boat again and proceeded to fill the boat, we then dislodged and start down the river and about 70 yards before we left the boat and made it to shore.

Well guys I must say I'm still shocked at how well everything turned out and can't thank you guys enough for your time and support. Definitely learned a valuable lesson to never let your gaurd down at any time on the river it always demands respect! The float was definately something special after all that, certainly wasn't expecting to find what we did still in the boat it was like someone tucked the rear leg brace away! On that note I gotta find an oar now so if anyone knows someone selling one or maybe buying something from Hyde let me know, we can work out shipping up here. Also like to thank my good buddy Matt, he's not on this board but is one of those guys that's always there no matter what. He swam the river to come help yesterday once he got off work! This board and the members on it are truly great if anyone ever gets into trouble on or off the water give me shout always more then willing to come give a hand! Take care, Jared

We had a come a long and a ton of rope on it yesterday, with the force of the water and amount of rope it would take hours just to get the rope tight with a come a long, we have a few irons in the fire right now but it's going to be a tough go no matter how we try.

A big thank you to Albany for taking time to help us out. We weren't able to do much with what we had though it's in a tough spot that's for sure. Got 2 guys with jets coming out tomorrow so hopefully we can make something happen just want to be safe. If anyone knows of a company out there that does stuff like this please let us know. For normal vet visits and concerns I take my dogs to Acadia vet clinic. I have dealt with Laurie Weber for many years and she is great, her associates are good as well. They are all honest and although the prices are the same as most they havent ever tried to bs me into something that isn't right. During cat season my bluetick got a pretty good gash along her ribs it was right to the bone and about 2 inchs long, ended up taking her to the fish creek 24 hr pet hospital the next morning and they did a great job. Cost me $380 to get her knocked out and fixed up. Thought that was very reasonable for a Sunday morning.

X2 on the Recon, picked one up at the expo this year in a 6 wt. It can really throw even with my poor casting habits! The rod is supposed to be the same taper as the Helios 2 just with different materials. Im looking at getting one in a 4 wt in the near future, anybody have any reviews on the 4 wt recons?

Its gotta go for an out of province inspection not sure what the cost is anymore but should run around 200$ depending on the year there are certain things you may require to install like daytime running lights etc. Not sure about overseas vehicles but just call a shop that does inspections, they will tell you what it takes.

My buddy shot a 50" bull last year he had p10, the other guy had p9 didnt get it put in for it this year and still didnt get it. The priorties change every year with how many people draw higher priorities then you. I will be one lucky sob to get that type of bull in 412 but I decided its worth it right now. I would look up how many tags got issued for the zone you want and see what the typical priority is.

I had a priority 6 for this one but i could have got it at 5 just didnt put in for it last year, every wmu is different. My buddy had p10 and was hoping to get drawn for 304, it didnt happen . What zone are you going to go for monger? Priority ten is nice I was thinking about waiting but seen a few nice bulls during cat season so couldnt wait... Should be a good season all around, gotta start getting into the mountains and lose the beer gut ive been working since Feb.

Radars rentals on horton road, my uncle inlaw just did one they hooked him up with the pig aswell dont know the price but the pig turned out nice.

For ribs on the smoker I use the 3-2-1 method and apply regular yellow mustard on them before my rub goes on. 3 hrs smoke. 2 hrs wrap in tinfoil, pour a splash of apple juice in. 1 hr back on the smoker by themselves. Try to keep the temp around 220-230 You have a charcoal smoker? Havent ever used one but that would be nice, we bring a propane smoker with us. Be careful not to have to many singlemalts while smoking or you dont remeber how good they tasted! The hound dogs and I may have to come down for a weekend.

Not sure the brand but wholsale in calgary has them at the specialty camping booth. They are 40$ if I remeber right. You have to sign your life away on them, try and buy a harness for one if they have any in stock.

Went out with drock, had a great float had one fish on for about 5 seconds and it snapped my line. Pretty funny when u got a fish on and your floating uncontrolled through the rapids! My biggest problem is consistency with just about everything lol. Definatly learned a few things from just watching, really appreciated the advice. Thank you all with your great advice.
