i say furled leaders are the best. homemade so thats kinda nice. cheap. fast and easy and can custom make. amazing turnover and if dry flying just add a little float to the leader. also can make brighter colours to help see.

one other thing i caught which was not cool at all, was a condom. Thats right a condom. I was fishing just below a treatment plant (which i now question how well it is treating water) and just finished my swing and was letting my streamer dangle and then it hooked a condom floating by. needless to say that fly was dead to me at that point.

so i got out on the river for a bit tonight and had a catch i never in a million years thought i would get. On my back cast a bat took my fly. I then threw him into the water on the forward cast and had to reel him back in. What a catch for a fly rod! Last year i had something simmilar i caught a rainbow about 14 inches long and when i was bringing him in an eagle stole it. My battle was now airborne for several minutes as i battle the shear strength of the eagles talons. So i figured i would post my two scenarios and hopefully start a thread on wacky things caught. Feel free to add to this and see if we can one up each other.

yes i have tried it and found i missed a lot of strikes since the line would bow under water before my indicator. Might just be the way i fished it but i did not like it.

i have that creek company pontoon (i too am cheap) and i actually am very happy with it. I will not deny you get what youpay fo but i have had it several years now and float the bow andhit up lakes frequently and have not had any issues with it. for me it was money well spent but i o lokat other units and see what i am missing. my 2 cents.

sweet so im not the only one. Whern i was writing this i was laughing thinking, man i feel dumb. My family (who do not fish) all laugh at me as well about it.

i am just curious if anyone else has noticed what i have seen in the bow for several years now. Almost every trip to the river along the shore i see coconuts that have rifted to shore. Last night alone within a 10 min stretch of water i found 3 of them. am i crazy or do you guys see em too. if anyone has info on this subject i woud love to hear it.
