Agreed. Buy a Norvice, and never buy another vice again.

The beauty of poetry, some see nature, others see fecal matter.

Indeed, and as ridiculous as that sounds, why is ok to do that to a fish, but not a deer?

Indeed, however, the correlation between 'Sport Fisherman/woman(and I'm using the term loosely), and Hunters is somewhat ambiguous, especially when considering the outcome. Sport Fisherman being those who fish for 'sport', rather than sustenance ie. Catch and Release 'Sport' Fisherman. This is not to say that hunters don't also shoot for 'sport', in fact, many Hunters would refer to the act of hunting as 'sport'. The end result, however, for the living entity involved in each of these sports is entirely different; death vs. life (or the hope thereof). Good topic and something to ponder, thoughts?

A winter of time the patience is unsettling, on liquid to stone, fish swims above rock. Hy'q or Haiku?

A Good Video For The Guiding Industry On The Bow?

......brings to mind the theory that prejudice comes from truth. Hmm. Enter Full-Time Guides / Part-Time Guides (Toolman already on stage) -
A certain creek just across the BC border has all kinds of evidence of past Gold panning/mining (I don't know the correct terms). There has got to be at least a hundred meters of old wooden slides camouflaged by moss etc. that crisscross the forested hills adjacent to the creek. I'm not sure how old they are but I would guess a hundred years anyways. Sounds like a interesting thing to get into (panning).

Banging On The Bongos Like A Chimpanzee
CTownTBoyz replied to Weedy1's topic in General Chat - Not Fishing Related (NFR)
A genius interpretation and I would speculate a recollected conversation of two appliance delivery men by Knoppler or Sting. Don't know how many times I've heard from one labourer I know..."Oh, that ain't workin' ......." -

There are two versions to the song; one with the 'small f-word', and one without. Surely they can continue to play the 'clean' version? -

I'm not sure I understand your take on the event; are you saying it is not worth investigating, or are you just annoyed at the media response? -
Felt Boots To Be Banned In Montana
CTownTBoyz replied to Harps's topic in General Chat - Fishing Related
This is a very intelligent move by Montana F & G; it makes me think of some of their pro-active and progressive decisions in the past such as limiting fishing during times of excessive water temperature. There is no arguement that felt is not the only source of dangerous inoculants, however, it is a source and one that is difficult to sterilize by even some of the best mechanisms; a step in the right direction no doubt. -
Try flavoring it with Labrador Tea Tea aka. Ledum glandulosum one time- about 30 leaves to a 26 oz. bottle. Let it sit for a week. The effects are interesting, but be careful you don't use too much; it can be dangerous.

On the subject of fair, why does a small business that have to give deals, and Walmart et al. don't have to? And if you refer comparing the "practices of Walmart to a small owner operated shop is a bit apples to watermelons", I would say the same applies to the buying practices of some who who has a small income and someone who has a large one. Regards.

You can assume all you want about the ' hagglee' and 'assignment of motives', but my guess is you haven't worked in a retail environment. The thing is Rickr, is that a small business is tough to run as it is, and 'special' discounts are limited. (My opinion) It is a lot nicer to give the discount to someone who it really benefits, ie. someone of a lower income bracket. Unfortunately, you can give up any large sales, and when an affluent tight aXX customer haggles it is better to make the sale- than not.....even if it hurts your bottom line. The pet peeve is more about people wanting more for less, and speaking from a physics perspective, we both know that is impossible; someone always loses. And speaking as a hagglee, I see injustice in the whole process as some 'kind of a game.' It's not a game or fun....people are just tight and cheap; even if it means taking advantage of another.

I had one customer come in and ask for a loner 6 weight because he had broken his rod. I explained that he could get a cheap, decent rod with a warranty for $100. He replied, "No, I would prefer just to borrow one until mine is repaired." For the record, he lives in Mount Royal - on the Elbow.

It's one thing if your negotating a house or a car, it's another if you're complaining about a few dollars. This is Calgary, not Tijiuana. There is one individual I know who figured if 10 of his friends and himself all bought 1K worth of Fly Tying material they should get it at cost + 5%. The wholesalers don't even sell it at that margin.

People that make 100k+, and are looking for a deal on a hundred dollars worth of fly tying material.
