Just for fun, what are everyone's top five, in order, go to nymphs for the Bow river..I'll start with mine.. 1/ San Juan worm 2/Flashback pheasant tail 3/soft-hackle hare's ear 4/ Prince nymph (#2 in fall) 5/golden stone (#2 in early summer)

good question, I typically use gold for all my most common bow nymphs and black for caddis larvae, and on lake chironomid (acts as part of the dark head) patterns. I will say it is amazing how on a #16 pheasant tail that little gold bead can be seen in clear water from a meter away at times, I'm confident it helps attract fish
