  1. On the cutthroat streams its all about the big splat of a hopper... then twitch... twich.... twitch... to make it move.
  2. I saw them in the new fly fusion mag, but I haven’t seen them in person. I am interested to see how big they are. ie would they re-place a parachute post on a size 14 or 16 p.adams. or are they more for hoppers. You could call the shops to see if they carry them. I know troutfitters and fish tales carry the regular sized ones
  3. I just came across these today while riding the big waves of the internet. I might try tying couple of these tonight? Has anyone ever tied these? If so do you want to give me the recipe and some pointers?
  4. I finally got out of my chironmid kick and have been tying up a bunch of 2 ½ inch half and half’s over the past couple days. Lately I have replaced the buck tail with marabou, as I find it has a lot more action in the water or in this case my bath tub. I got this idea at troutfitters when I noticed they had some clouser’s made up with marabou. Has anyone fished these? Do they hold up?
  5. What kind of boat is that? The DIY locker looks really nice.
  6. Have you considered a restriction on the "harvested" fish? ie between 12" and 18" can be kept?
  7. I need to convince my wife to move.
  8. I was wondering if it was purple... Thanks for the help.
  9. Bhurt, What type of dubbing are you using on these? Also what size???
  10. I have never seen a black and white Woolly Bugger... What do these look like??
  11. If you can get your hands on one a sage xi2 8wt.
  12. Very true.....Verry Dumb! I am pretty sure I have not had mcnuggets since.
  13. About 10 years ago my friends and I had a mcnugget eating contest. I ate 80, but came in last. One guy ate 120. We all paid for it that night and in our wallet.
  14. I have an orvis mid arbor Battenkill reel for my 4wt and I find it really heavy. I actually prefer using my other reels over this one for that reason. If spending a little more money is not a big issue and you want a rock solid reel I would check out the Danielsson reels at Fish Tales. These are as light as a feather and have enough drag to stop a freight train on a dime. I highly recommend this reel... it won’t disappoint you.
  15. I know it is online..... but I was not sure what day on my trip I would be crossing the border.
  16. Does anyone know if the Crowsnest Angler sells Classified Water Licenses?
  17. Frick its hard to justify buying a boat when you have such a good weekend on the highwood. It sounds like going down to the states is my best bet to pick up a new boat. I may also look on Kijji over the winter. Thanks for all the great ideas.
  18. I am debating to buy a drift boat for next season. I was thinking about buying a new vs used. Where do you suggest buying these from? Also any suggestions on the make or model (I mainly fish the bow and elk river)?
  19. Does anyone know where the brown trout are around Fernie? I was just looking at an add for the Canadian FLy Fishing Championships and they are talking about "beautiful browns"?
  20. What order do you do these in?
  21. Does anyone have a recipe for a half and Half they would like to share?
  22. I have seen a dead elk in a lake near invermere. It had fallen through the ice in the spring. The carcus sat half out of the watter for the better part of the year with birds and fish picking away at it. Now the bones are all that remain in the water. Its sort of creepy floating over it because you feet can practically touch them.
  23. I am assuming this was in the morning since the river was looking like chocolate milk at 5:00? Nice fish, looks like you will have to invest in a larger net. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Has anyone used these in a drift boat? I was wondering if they mark up the bottom of the boat?
