I'm using t8 and t11 with my 450gr skagit setup and polyleaders with my 285gr scandi. I like to use streamers such as sculpins, muddler variations and leaches with skagit, and classics such as soft hackles with my scandi.

I fish the bow with a spey or switch 90% of the time. I believe you can't compare to the aggressive strike of a fly on the swing. I also love the delicate roll out of a snake roll or single spey. The other 10% of the time I am nymphing and searching for snouts.

Anybody swinging big streamers in this dirty water?

I was just wondering cause I just purchased a Hardy Zenith 4wt and was thinking of matching it with that reel because of the weight. I need a little drag cause I don't want a bow river brown breaking off because the lack there of.

How is the drag on the Galvan ?

I'm going to Mexico for a week in April and I'm wondering if anyone has a salt water reel I could borrow. I will be using my 7wt rod so I'll need a reel that will hold 200 feet of gel spun and line.

I would go with the ridgeline. I drove my friends back to Calgary from Squamish BC and was very impressed. They also have lots of storage under the truck bed.

I currently own a 6wt spey rod but I'm looking to buy a heavier rod for larger salmon fishing. Any suggestions on a rod wt and length?
