jeebus abd would chew a big line right down teh riverbed..... interesting idea but im not too sure about it....... sure ponton and driftboat anchors do the same but onl for a short stretch too stop and do whatever.. btu dredging teh whole riverbottom might not be so good in teh long run
According to the video that I watched on the technique it needs to be 2 feet off the bottom to work correctly. That is the part that is not clear. If it is just hanging there how is it supposed to slow you down. The guy at class V stated that the chain flutters in the current which somehow creates drag and slows you down. It is also supposed to act like a keel and track straight.

Has anyone ever tried the chain anchor drift method that Dave Scadden talks about on the Bow river. He claims that is will slow you down and assist in tracking straight even though it is not dragging on the river bottom.
I talked to a guy at a company in the stated called class 5 and he swears by this method also.
Just looking for local input.

Hi, I'm going fishing tomorrow, I was wondering if it's going to be warm enough to wet wade the Bow River..
Thanks
I was down near cochrane last week and saw some people up to their knees and were wearing only shorts. When they came out there legs looked pretty blueish cold. I would recommend not.

Was wondering if a guy was to float the bow river, what are the must have fly patterns to carry.

has anyone here been successful in painting an lead anchor with some sort of rubber coating. the anchor that purchased leaves black marks all over the place and would like to coat it with some sort of rubber or vinyl.

All,
I am seriously thinking on picking up an Outcast pontoon boat, one of the models which allows you to stand up. It's pretty appealing for a number of reasons but it has one serious drawback that I can think of. It looks heavy. Most of the lakes I fish are walk-in so heavy is not a plus. So, if anyone knows out there, is it too heavy to carry easily? Lastly, and perhaps most importantly has anyone rigged theirs up with wheels? If so I would love to hear about it.

Female adult Stoneflys, are often refered to as a Skid Bitch. It is a reference to the way that females of some species, will skid across the surface of the water, sometimes on egg laying runs, ovidepositing their egg clusters. Bitch refers to gender.
One of my favorites...Barretts Golden Stone w/barred legs.
thanks
