  1. I will be driving to the island in mid/late June. If this isnt too late let me know.
  2. I worked in Slave Lake for two years and found lots of fishing opportinities. I guess it all depends on the time of year. Take highway 88 about 2 km north of town and fish the river just below the campground/weir. Throw anything big and ugly and you should hook into lots of pike and even some walleye. Lesser Slave Lake is very big but very shallow in most spots, if you don't mind wading 500 yards from shore there is deffinetly some fish to be had. Also try Mitsue lake ~15km south of town fish from shore or the dock- way too many pike in this lake, not big but plentyful- it gets boring. enjoy
  3. How do you figure? PIM CGY- 18 LA- 23. If you include the 10 min misconducts it was CGY- 38 LA- 43. I admit the penalty shot was pretty weak. Pretty bold statements you make about the reffing. That was a vicious hit/head shot on LA's premier forward. Im sure you would be singing a different tune if it was Iginla who got laid out. No?
  4. Dirty Panities- Shot of Vodka with parmessan cheese on top.
  5. NOT TO SURE BUT QUENNEVILLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE SPAZZING! THREE BLACKHAWKS ON THE ICE WHILE THE SHAMES HAD SIX ON DURING THAT SCRUM.
  6. Thanks for all the feedback ! I got a fly tying book for xmas- not too sure of the name I think its called the Fly Tying Bible for Trout and Salmon?? Seems like it could be quit usefull for starting out. It has step by step instructions for lots of flies from simple to difficult/complex patterns. Just been leafing through it and there are what appear to be easy patterns to tie ie Hares Ear, Pheasant tail, wooly bugger, elk hair caddis etc... I think what I'll do from what you guys suggested is get all the tools and materials required for a couple easy nymph patterns and go from there. As far as tools go how much money is a guy looking at to get set up? Obviously I'm not looking for top of the line but would like a decent set up that I can learn on.
  7. Hello All, I cant take it any longer, would like to start tying my own flies. Do any of the local shops carry starter kits for tnew tiers or do you just buy all the equipment and materials seperately? Any guidance would be grealty appreciated. Thanks
