  1. Thanks Brad. It seems to me that alot of guys like to hide behind the relative anonymity provided by these posts.... And BTW Tako, get your hands on a good dictionary. If you're going to use words like that in a post make sure you know how to spell them properly first....
  2. Awesome pics. Thanks for the inspiration...

  13. Jmasson, We are not completely ignorant, but thanks for all the tips. I've seen many bulls caught earlier in the year that were also very dark. Some of which were posted here. That was the point of the statement. I believe age is a factor in fish appearance also. If there had been any indication of females in the vicinity, or that there was pairing up and redd activity, no attempt would have been made at it. Lorne holds a degree in biology so I am comfortable with his judgement. At no time in any of our fishing is the health or welfare of the fish put secondary. Ever. This area was well scouted out, and the fish was actively feeding, obviously, and no pairing up, redd activity, or females were seen anywhere in the area. I just read an interesting article on the Highwood survey, check it out. This post wasn't put up to start any arguments, nor do I particularly care to wast any time engaged in any. I want my grandchildren to be able to fish for all the species I myself enjoy pursuing so much. That being said, myself, and Lorne also wouldn't think of doing anything to jeopardize that. And if the regs were changed to state that one cannot fish for Bulls at that time of year I would gladly abide by them. As for this fish being "easy to catch" this was most certainly not the case...
  14. Thanks rusty.
  15. For everyone that seems to have a problem with this post, notice there's no date given as to when the fish was caught... If this had been put up a month ago would there be all the commotion?
  16. Spooked this guy out from an undercut bank on the way back upstream. We weren't sure what it was as neither of us saw it, just the splash and the smoke trail as he high-tailed it away. Later in the day caught a cutt in a nearby riffle, it ran near some broken water and BAM. All I got back was a corkscrewed tippet. Streamer time.. but no dice. Came back 2 more times, third time was a charm when Lorney nailed him. Taped 28.5 inches. And it took 2 days for the grin to come off Lorney's face... Got video of the whole show, if I can ever outsmart this camera I'll try to upload.
  17. As of this morning I'll be working the Sat. of your clinic. I'll be out of town for a week or so, so I guess I'll have to catch it next time. Sorry for the runaround...
  18. My scheduling for work just got changed... May still be off Sat. though, am definitely interested. What are the details? (Time, place, etc.?)
  19. Whoops. This is a bit better.
  20. Most have probably seen this already.. Sun.pdf_2.pdf
  21. I'd be interested.. Is the clinic the same topics both days? I've never spey casted but would like to learn more. Don't have a spey rod either, would that be a problem?
  22. Here's mine.. I recently started tying, and copied a pattern I saw called an RBE Emerger. Went out to Bullshead one day earlier this year and saw some decent fish feeding in shallow water about 4 feet from shore. Figured "what the hell" as they were taking from the surface, so I tied on this thing I (poorly) tied. Chucked it out and this fella nailed it. After I set the hook I kinda regretted using 5 x tippet as he freight trained me right through the weeds, and I thought for sure he would bust me off. Took a while to land, but taped at 20 inches. Not a huge fish, but nailing it on a fly I spun made it pretty memorable.
  23. Awesome pics man..
