calgary city planning = oxymoron.
even the 'chuck has us way beat with an fab ring-road system that keeps the outta towners passing thru from adding to congestion on local arteries.
-
anyone used a calgary area butcher who cuts/wraps/makes wild game sausage they would reccomend?
i used to know i guy who knew a guy, but then they went away.
thought i'd ask before i pick & click blindly, there are a few one can google.

cool. witnessed some of that first hand, during construction leading up to the previous summer olympics there.
the planning and coordination involved boggles the mind. as do the costs. that project was also heavy on equipment and tools...lots of things are still done much more by hand and manually. some quality and safety standards [in some cases] are not the same as here.
bottom line however...when china wanna git 'er dun, they git 'er dun.

how about estimating the amount of time it will take the city to get the roads back in shape?
...so when is spring...?

sux dude.
i never ever ever pay to see a flick i haven't researched first, for that very reason. burned too often.
besides i find the home theatre is a much better movie experience now...just have to wait 18 months.
or in the case of skyline...18 weeks?

should not be required training when purchasing a vehicle capable of towing, rather mandatory prior to registering the trailer....lots of soccer moms driving escalades that will never see the hitch get used ['i always wondered what that thing was for']

thanks to those who served [like my grandfather did], and thanks to those men & women who are serving now [even if i don't agree with everywhere you are posted and in what capacity].

How many studies does it take on anything to make government act?
honestly dude?
ask the average 'bye from nfld about the cod fishery collapse and the moratorium.
the decline began a long time before it collapsed. there was complelling scientific evidence as to the root cause [bottom trawling] for years before. dfo finally does manage to get a few things right occasionally.
but
the lack of funding to adequately patrol the 200 mile limit and the lack of balls on the part of the ruling feds at the time to take on the huge international consortium of mega trawling harvesters that caused the problem in the fisrt place because, well, it wouida been a lot of dough to spend and the other side has deeper pockets that the feds had the appetite to tax the entire country for to bail out da 'byes on da rock. and, well they occasionally made port in st. john's and bought fuel. so nfld, ya know, kinda sorta benefited.
so the answer is...
when the wild salmon stocks actually collapse, the feds will but a moratorium on fishing. for canadians. in canadian waters.
based on historical performance, i am in no way optimistic that the federal goverment will lift a goddam finger for wild salmon unless it became the #1 cross-country election issue.
or the international community put pressure on the gov't.
or if famous movie stars and the psychotic one-legged wives of aging rock stars showed up and organized and staged protests and international publicity campaigns.
oh, and btw?
now the feds have opened the inshore waters of nfld to commercial shrimp fishing to re-employ former cod fisherman.
the favoured method of harvest?
bottom trawling.
wow.
where's me rum...

buy an inexpensive or good used pair, you will not regret it.
starting out not having waders and not being able to cast very far/with accuracy can severly limit your ability to catch fish. you may not be able to get to where the fish are as often.
which may lead to frustration...etc.

depends on how many old fat guys are along for the trip? and how much beer they bring along? lol.
can't speak for the brands you list but my sled rows and tracks well fully loaded. draws a bit more sure. only issue is of course less room to wander around on deck.
