Pics
in Photo Posts
Was a pretty good trip. Fishing was slow and the weather was horrible but a few nice ones caught. The red spots on the adipose fin of that one brown where the brightest spots I have seen yet. Almost flouresent. Reminded me of the color of the belly on a char in some photos. Guess I left the mojo on a little to long because I got skunked on the last day. One of those trips where fishing is usually really good until you take someone there with you and the fishing is slow.
Dutchie it is a different place from where I usually go for browns but found some nice colorful fish here too. Would love to live there but unfortunately no work there so back to the grind in southern alberta.
Just about time to focus on mountain streams. Hope I can get out a few times.
Thanks for the photo's kyle they turned out awesome.

I've rented a 40 passenger bus and it's heading to Jeremie's secret fishing hole near Edmonton. I have room for 2 muir people so book your spot ASAP.
Too good.

A night time gig at the Maid would sure leave a lot of free time during the day for fishing. I might have to consider a career change.

Hey Jeremie you have posted many pics on here from trips that your dad has took you on. I think you should be greatful that you have been taken to more places than most kids your age. I am sure you will have many more trips in the future. It won't be long before you will just be thankful your old man can still walk up and down a river. Be happy for him.

I had similair problems the other day on my home computer. I went to the site and a window popped up that said virus detected. It wanted me to click yes to remove it from the computer. I closed it out there was a shortcut on my desktop to some C control Program. I deleted the shortcut and went into add remove programs menu and it was in there too. It said it was 3.2 MB in size. Removed it from my programs without ever opening it. Went back on there a few hours later and it did the same thing but this time the program had a different name. Put another short cut on my desktop and a program on the list. Deleted it the same way. Haven't been back since. Any smart computer guys know if there is anything else I should do to make sure I got rid of eberything. This is the first time this has ever happened to me and both times it happened going to Alberta Fly Fishing Forum.

I used a couple of TFO 5wt TiCr rods for 3 years and loved them. Caught lots good sized fish and casted streamers, double nymph rigs and dries without any problems. Recently gave them to my dad and replaced with g loomis rods I found a good deal on. Was kind of missing the feel of my TFO on my first outing but by mid day I was liking my new rod. I also have a few z axis, a couple of XP's and a few other g loomis in different weights and lengths. I haven't bought a new rod since my TFO's and find that guys are selling used stuff in new condition for about half the price of new. If you do some digging on the internet you can find some amazing deals.
I don't know what others think but it doesn't seem to matter what rod I am casting but after a half hour or so I have adjusted my cast to fit the rod and don't seem to have many issues. I have even casted my dads 6wt canadian tire rod he got on sale for $40 and once I was concentrated on fishing I didn't notice it affecting my cast. It was a little heavier than what I usually use and started to feel that by the end of the day but was still able to punch flies out there and catch fish. I am a bit of a gear head and probably have more rods than I need. But we all have to spend our hard earned cash on something. I guess spend what you feel comfortable spending because every rod will catch fish if the guy holding it is capable.

Should We Stock Tiger Trout In Alberta?
in General Chat - Fishing Related
Posted
Tigers are an aggressive and beautiful fish. I enjoy fishing for them. I would like to know if cost is the only reason they are not being stocked in Alberta. There are about 7 lakes in Saskatchewan that are stocked with Tigers. Seeing as how they are public lakes I would imagine that they are stocked through the fisheries stocking program. There yearly sask resident licence is about $5 more than we pay here in Alberta. Alberta has a population that is more than 3x that of Saskatchewan. I would think there is alot more money generated through Alberta fishing licences than Saskatchewan. So this makes me wonder how Sask can stock them in about 7 lakes across the province and Alberta can't do it in one. The only difference I see is that Alberta puts money into stocking Bulls and Cutties. Maybe this is where the money goes instead. I guess it is good that Alberta is putting money into restocking the native fish. I think there is probably more to it than the money.
