  1. Just in from my buddy Ranger Bob!

"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."

  2. My suggestion would be to use Arctic fox in the tail. It'll keep most of the action of the marabou, but will stand-up much better against teeth. For the wing, icelandic sheep or even Yak hair is a good material. I would lean towards the sheep hair as the Yak can be slippery and pull out if it isn't secured really well. Superfly has a new hair called SuperFiber that would work well on this pattern as well. What ever you use, just add a couple strands of pearl flash over top and in the wing.

  3. I tie mine on egg hooks (Mustad Sig. C67S). Pretty much all my flies I now tie on a curved shank hook with the exception of streamers. I use a small hook and dangle the chenille over the front and back.
