I have been doing some research for my next big fishing trip, and have decided to fish the Tree River in Nunavut for Arctic Char next summer. I was originally considering going through Plummer's Lodge, but found out that you can actually charter your own plane up there. I have contacted a few companies, and have found the best quote to be $8400 return from Yellowknife for up to 6 people, which would work out to $1400 each, plus about 900 from Calgary. At this point I am wondering if anyone on the board would be interested in such a trip in order to get a large enough group together to make it work out. At this point there would be no commitment expected, but I would just like to see how many people are interested to see if it would work. The length of this trip would depend on what everyone wanted, which could be anywhere from 5-14 days I'm thinking.

As for the fishing, from reports I have found, it appears that typical catch rates would be around 1-2 fish per hour averaging about 6-15 lbs, with good possibilities for fish in the 20-30 lb range. If anyone is interested could you let me know and I'll get more information to you. Thanks

save your money for next year and look at arcticflyfishing . com maybe the biggest char in the world.

I've been up in cambridge bay before and heard of the char fishing. Pretty impressive place for it.
