DougC Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 Heeler's are actually great fishing dogs. I was kind of worried when I got mine that she would not do well with river crossings but she is actually a great swimmer and not afraid of the water at all. She has no problems with any of the river crossings we do, and she absolutely loves hiking and fishing. The herding instinct is definately strong in them though, whenever we go to the dog park she always tries to herd in all the dogs that are running around. It's pretty funny to watch. Here's mine.
