LethMaverick Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Has anyone ever fished with an Albright A-5 or knows someone who has? The reviews are really to good to be true at the price of the rod. I'm on the verge of purchasing a 9ft 5wt and any info would be greatly appreciated. They seem like a bit of an unknown, but seems like one heck of a rod for a TFO type price. monger Posted June 20, 2008 Share Posted June 20, 2008 I believe they are made by the fellow who used to run Redington. I have read that some of the bigger rods tend to snap on really big fish. unclebuck Posted June 26, 2008 Share Posted June 26, 2008 I bought one and love it! They are very light, pack small and load quickly, making a lot of false casting unnecessary. I would give it full marks for accuracy. The only thing I don't like is the hardware on the reel lock, it seems a bit light and possibly flimsy. Its my new favorite rod.
