acurrie Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Just wondering if anyone has had a chance in the last few days to get out on the Bow? I was down at Edworthy tonight and the Vis is still about 1.5 feet, but i'm not sure if it is the same below the city? Also wondering if anyone can make a suggestion about a good lake within a couple hours to fly fish, I have a pontoon to help me get around? Quote
tgo Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 you weren't fishing at Edworthy were you? It's closed until June 1 on that stretch, just a heads up in case you didn't know Quote
tgo Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 In terms of lakes, check out Police Outpost, heard it' fishing alright, don't know after this rain though Quote
acurrie Posted May 24, 2008 Author Posted May 24, 2008 No i wasn't fishing, just taking the dog out for a walk and swim. Thanks for the heads up though. I was going to head up to Upper kananaskis lake... maybe try my luck there. Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 Upper and Lower are serious lakes, be careful on a pontoon, wind picks up and you're far, far away from having a good time Quote
ÜberFly Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 No i wasn't fishing, just taking the dog out for a walk and swim. Thanks for the heads up though. I was going to head up to Upper kananaskis lake... maybe try my luck there. Upper is still pretty much frozen! P Quote
acurrie Posted May 24, 2008 Author Posted May 24, 2008 Really? crap. lol... I guess I'll have to rethink my strategy Quote
maxwell Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 bin finding some nice fish on the streamers juans and stones fished in teh slack water on teh bow but its tough sluggin for a few fish...... Quote
headscan Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Between the rain, wind, high water, and low vis today it definitely wasn't for the faint of heart. Plus the high fast water is dislodging a lot of big stuff like logs that were on the banks. Keep an eye upstream if you're wading... Quote
maxwell Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 yup it aint easy fishing right now but if u eep at it and beat the hell out of a nice slackwater eddy along the banks and work the seam hard with nymphs fish can be caught.. jsut gotta be stubborn and work at it Quote
