angler Posted February 25, 2008 Share Posted February 25, 2008 'twas thinking of upgrading from XP Pro but have gotten some advice that at least in Word things get pretty slow and I already complain of a way too slow machine. rusty Posted February 25, 2008 Share Posted February 25, 2008 I run Office 2007 on a machine with 2GB of RAM and a semi-decent dual core and have no complaints. The new ribbon setup (vs the old toolbars) is great once you get the hang of it. Many new features are the direct result of input from the user community. There has been a lot more cross-product integration. The new graphs and cell formats in Excel are pretty freakin' sweet. The new file formats will open up the third party development market. If you've got the system space, just install them both and you can see the difference. 2k7 might seem like more hassle than it's worth for the average user, but I hope it catches on.
