beeker Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I'm seriously thinking about purchasing one of Fishpond's Wasatch or Wildhorse pack vests. I'll have to do it online, but before I spend that kind of dough is there anyone out there that has any experience with them. Specifically, how do they stand up durability wise, are they comfortable, is the pack on the Wasatch big enough, etc? Thanks. Quote
Pythagoras Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Haven't used the products but one thing I notice is missing is a way to strap a 4-piece rod tube to the back. I really like being able to case my rod at the end of a trip and have both hands free when I'm walking out. That and they seem a little pricy... Quote
126barnes Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I have the Gore range pack vest....................i like the accessiblity........................can't comment on durabilty as I only wore it for the second time today. "The one size fits most" give smaller guys (5'10........190#)lots of play with the adjustable straps (shoulders and waist) to achieve a comfy fit. Quote
Guest Rocknbugs Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I got a Fishpond Guide Pack for X-mas, it looks cool and fits on nicely but I have not used it yet. I like that it can be a chest pack or worn on the hip as well. Quote
vhawk12 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I am planning on getting a double-haul....Wholesale has them as does fishtales if you want to check them out...I would like to hear more reviews myself! Quote
Brownstone Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I have a fishpond vest..one of the earlier models, 4 years old, I love it, compared to the new stuff..not much different, they haven't changed the styling much at all. durable and light (empty of course) with fully adjustable shoulder and mid section straps. only problem i ever had was, the outer layer of one of the accessory loops became frayed and unraveled.
