Gluing Doll Eyes Onto Dumbells

Hi all,

 

At first I was using knotsense but that didn't work, and yesterday I tried loctite but that didn't seem to work either. Can anyone recommend a good glue for this type of thing?

They have a paper backing to them in a lot of cases so if you use Tuffleye or epoxy that shoiuld work. My preference for eyes is to use the molded eyes and I use Zap-A-Gap to stick them on.

Epoxy, you can even cover the whole eye it it, tough stuff

Krazy Glue or 5 min epoxy

Epoxy is the best for all situations, most super glues will not last and 5 minute epoxy gives you the chance to position them exactly where you want before setting.

I've found that just glueing them on doesn't work very well. They always fall off (at least for me) with whichever glue I used.

 

So now I glue them on with Loctite or Zap-a-gap. I let them dry for a couple days (probably not necessary, but this is what I do).

 

Then I cover the whole eye with 5 minute epoxy making sure to get the epoxy in the gap between the doll eye and dumbbell edge.

 

I've also tried a Loon product called Hard Head, which seems to work well, but I haven't put the flies to the torture test yet.

zap-a-gap all the way..jsut started using this stuff the past month..loving it for glueing eyes onto stuff...and a whole lot more

Excellent advice everyone. I saw zap-a-gap used at the show on the weekend and will definitely be picking some of it up. Thanks!
