cdock Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I found this cool piece of software and downloaded it. It allows people to submit their patterns and share with everyone else. It's a great idea however there seems to be no one else using it. Anyone else stumble across this? Quote
Lawrence Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I have fly source and there's been quite a bit of patterns from people on that one, you should check it out Quote
admin Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Fly source is the new tool of choice. http://flysource.net/ You can even post your pattern files on here for download. Alexandra.fly Just right click and save to your program files/flysource/flysource files/flys directory. You can also add fly tying material to the program. Kevin, the creator is working on a newer version as well that will further improve the program. I have about 1200 patterns right now, and use it for reference a lot. Quote
admin Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I'll leave up my software so you can get your collection started. Quote
cdock Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 I downloaded both and fly source works but there seems to be no one online ever and there is only 1 pattern. Superfly Fishing Machine won't install. Anyone have some pointers on either one? Quote
Lawrence Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 THat's kinda strange, I've been on fly source a few times looking for ideas and I've had no problems in the past. As for superfly, I've never heard of it. Quote
admin Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Superfly was written a long time ago. I think it's been shelved. I have my fly source running again. Had some issues with power outages here yesterday. I'll leave it up overnight, so try and log on and download. We did have a version at the FFE in february that had a couple hundred patterns from the Flyangler database. I'm not sure if Kevin will be back again this year, but they are working on version 2. Quote
admin Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Too bad there isn't a Mac verson Actually, I think he's working on a mac version and a Unix / linix version. (I think it does run under Lindows) Quote
